Annual holiday roadtrip with Mitsubishi

January 5, 2017

First things first, watch the video we made from our recent trip to Winthrop with the new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4!

Last year we had so much fun the three of us on our daytrip to Leavenworth, that we decided to make this an annual tradition. This time we decided to go to Winthrop, Ryan and I went there last year with our friends Carey and Elena, and we loved it so much that we decided to go again this year with Caiti (Ryan's sister).

We started our trip with a stop to Krispy Kreme donnuts & Karaoke as usual. It is about a 4 hour drive from Seattle. The drive is beautiful and we were amazed at the change of landscape, one second you had sunshine, the next it was all covered in snow, and then sunshine again. Guess why I love Winthrop? It is a Western town and every building has western style Illustrations and signs. It is very small but very charming, with cute little shops and cafeterias, and there I had one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had.

The drive was very nice and I am very excited because we tried Apple Car Play for the first time, oh my! Game changer. I will add this as a MUST in my future car. Those who know me, they know music is everything for me, it is part of my life, and for the sake of my traveler companions that there is a good music system, or else they will have me ''karaokeing'' the whole way (no thank you!). Apple Car Play is the way to go! It is very comfortable, there is enough space to hold coffees and water bottles, this is a must for roadtrips.

It felt very safe to drive, specially when we went through snow, we were a little nervous first when we woke up to a winter wonderland but this car proved that everything was under control. It has front Wheel Drive (FWD), not Four Wheel Drive (4WD), but it was fine.

Mitsubishi has the best car Warranty of all car dealers in the market, and they are also known for their great sound system.

Here are some of my favorite things from this car:

  • Good gas mileage: there's nothing that I dislike more than throwing money on gas, so having a good gas mileage is one of the most important things in a car.
  • Apple Car Play: did I say I love this thing? Not looking back!
  • Key-less drive: no need to look for your keys at the bottom of your purse, just get in and start driving, you'll look for them later. Perfect when
  • 6-way adjustable driver's seat: this is perfect when you are half the size of your boyfriend and you split the drive, everyone can find their perfect position to be as comfortable as possible.
  • Rear-view camera system: yeah, very convenient.

It was a very basic car, compared to what we've tried in the past, but I will say that, for being a basic car you get A LOT for the price. It is the perfect first car for someone like me that is just getting out of college, or for a second family car.

Thank you Mitsubishi for letting us try the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 this time and thank you to DriveshopUSA for making it so easy and being always so friendly!

   Welcome to my world; if you like to make things, if you like Mondays, if color makes you dance, if you don't know how to say no because you just want to do it all, or if you randomly blurt song lyrics that relate to what someone said, then this is your place!  Make yourself something warm to drink and enjoy.                       {Spain-Seattle}

This guy on the other hand has lived under a rock for 29 years and has recently discovered ABBA for the first time 😳 like it’s making me think that he has ignored most of what I played for the past 4 years??. Like who doesn’t know ABBA? It’s like not knowing who the Beatles are at age 29. But no worries, we are catching up, he has been playing the soundtrack nonstop and has watched the movies several times (his choice) and we are doing lots of Karaoke time (his choice too😜).
6 hours driving last night and 5 hours of sleep. About to float the river but first we took a cat nap in the sun. So excited to see @brandicarlile tonight for the second time (first for @r_james_a). I discovered her when I was a teenager and if someone would’ve told me I would move to her home state one day and see her live in concert I would have not believe it. Music has shaped (and still does) the person I am today (one of the reasons I came to the US is to see @celinedion in Las Vegas, so there you go), helps with hard days, emotional days and makes good days even better. Gracies a l’ @elisporta per ajudar-me a descobrir-la 😘
The rush of seasons, the need to get to the next thing. Selling pumpkins in August. Excitement for fall to get here. Schools starting in August (this should be illegal btw). I’m a late bloomer and the rush, and anxiousness for the next thing is a bit overwhelming to me sometimes. Can we just enjoy the today? Realize it’s still summer (for another month), that fall will get here faster than we think but not today, or tomorrow. Summer is NOT over. Okay? Okay. 😉 don’t get me wrong, I love chilly mornings too. #livinginbabaa
That afternoon light coming in from one of my favorite kitchens. Made this for dinner tonight inspired by last week’s @freshexchange ‘s dinner served. My mouth was watering while they were making this on their Live video. Meaghan and Mike do a live every week where they cook something together and make drinks, they are so entertaining. It’s like watching my favorite show. I do a workout while I have it on. I am a fan of their work, you should follow them. This is their pizza salad, the recipe is on their feed ❤️
Weddings + cowboy boots ✨ My happy place.
Our wedding invitations are sent out. Final details are being discussed. Excitement building up for our month long trip to my home coming up. Sharing it with our family and friends, who are taking the time off of their busy schedules and making an investment to fly from different parts of the world, to be there with us for our special day this upcoming September.
At the same time, after months waiting and what seems like an eternity, our Visa process is being approved and updated by Immigration at this very exact moment, just in time for our trip. I have tried really hard to stay positive and calm through all this process. But we have chosen to live life, taking one day at a time, laugh a lot, eat matcha + ellenos yogurt ice cream like a maniac and wait for that approval letter and employment card to come in the mail. It all works out at the end, always last minute with us, but by now I have learned to be patient and trust. I am so thankful I get to do all this with this man of mine, he writes letters to congress representatives, says yes to icecream, and likes to celebrate every little accomplishment we make 🥂 . He is the best. Photo by my brother: @mr_n0mad in our beautiful Seattle!
Learning how to sew is the best thing I have ever done for myself. These @babaaknitwear linen pants had a few minor pulls in the seam, because they’ve been loved, so I reinforced it to make it stronger, and problem solved! For many more wears! 💫
Pizza night! This past weekend I felt like I’m starting to understand how pizza dough works and how to work with it. When to let it sit and when to get it in action. The amount of flour. The lessons I am learning in the kitchen. Patience, perseverance and imagination. I think working with dough is one of the biggest pleasures in life! #pizzanight
Sea Fair this weekend! ✈️ Footage from last year, seeing it from the water is hard to beat! This is still so amazing to me, it doesn’t get old!
These will forever be my favorite shoes. @r_james_a got them for me a few years ago on his trip to Colombia. Just the picture in my mind of him picking out a pair of shoes that he thought I would love 😍 and the excitement in his face when he arrived and handed them to me and then telling me the story behind them and how he talked to the maker and learned about their process. I never want to forget it and make these shoes a keeper forever.
