Open to be

One of my friends and I were talking the other day and she told me: ''You know what, Eli; I think you are not with anyone because right now you are happy, everything that is going on in your life right now is making you full.''

It is true. There's so much going on now, so many fun things... -like for example focusing on my future professional career-, that my heart and my mind don't think they can handle or fit 'one more thing' in my schedule. The inner me thinks, if I let anyone be part of my life, it will be time consuming and it is going to take me away from all those fun and fulfilling things that are happening to me and this might 'hurt' my future.

Putting a name to my future way of living and being happy with my professional career and being successful with it, it's very important for me and something I'm working really hard on. And I know the journey can be hard but hard work gets paid back.

And then my dear friend Alicia just reminded me again of these scene from the movie Meet Joe Black. Where Susan's dad (Anthony Hopkins) takes a moment to give her some wise advice about love.

I want you to get swept away. I want you to levitate. I want you to sing with and dance like a dervish. Be deliriously happy or at least leave yourself open to be.
I know it's a cornball thing. But love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without.
I say, fall head over heels. Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back.
How do you find him? Well... Forget your head and listen to your heart. And I'm not hearing any heart.
Cause the truth is, honey, there's no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deep in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, cause if you haven't tried, you haven't lived.
Stay open. Who knows? Lightning could strike.

I really needed this today. I've been getting my head around this thought lately. Am I ever going to be able to love someone? If I meet someone, will I know he is the right one for me? Do I want to be with someone?

Stay open. Forget your head and listen to your heart.

I will finish this post with this commercial that I play to myself once in a while, because there's always time for everything. Even if the overwhelming amounts of work makes you think you are not going to survive.
